Big Dog Shop Hop IVMay 1, 2010
Welcome to Big Dogs Shop Hop IV
A Motor City Aquarium Society Event Hosted by Randy Stier and Chuck Riffenburg Today MCAS welcomes GVAS and SMAS to the Detroit area.
Travel time as well as time at each stop will be generous.

Our journey will begin at I-23 and I-96 (1 exit south on I-23, exit 58) at the Golden Arches of McDonald's Restaurant.
Time your arrival so that we can all leave at 9:00 a.m. John Oyer will meet us here and take us to his hatchery of around 400 tanks with lots of Cichlids.
First Stop. Oyer Cichlids 8812 Rio Vista Brighton, MI 810-229-2122 Oyer Cichlids will be an experience for those who have never been there. John & Mary sell fish, "Pleco" caves and food. After about an hour will leave Brighton and head to Livonia to Fantastic Fins.
Second Stop. Fantastic Fins 38131 Ann Arbor Livonia, MI 734-464-3523 Co-Owners Dale & Chris will be open and waiting for our arrival. They have a reputation in the area as the store to go to for new and odd ball fish. Leaving Livonia we will head north to Highland for our third experience.
Third Stop. The Pet Supplier 2936 Highland Highland, MI 248-887-1881 *This address may be changed by The Shop Hop date. With a little luck owner Chris Benes will be inviting our group into his new store. He will be in the process of moving his store to a new location near his present address. This store will be new and fully stocked. There should be something for everyone at this shop. Leaving Highland we will head down the road to Highland Tropical in White Lake.
Fourth Stop. Highland Tropical 10655 Highland Road White Lake, MI 248-698-9090 Bob Topper will have a fully stocked store for us to enjoy. Everything from the common to the off beat in live stock and plants. This store is a bright, clean hobbyist dream. Bob and his crew always treat us right. While in his store look hard at all the tanks, as you never know what he has in stock. From White Lake it is on to Drayton Plains to Moby Dick Pet Store.
Fifth Stop. Moby Dick Pet Store Inc. 3700 Sashabaw Road Waterford, MI 248-673-2520 The Serfass Family has a nice shop with one room full of plants, fresh and salt water animals and another room full of hard goods. Over the years I've found things in this shop that I have never seen anywhere else. It is a long ride to Chesterfield for our next stop. We will be Going to Icthyos Enterprises.
Sixth Stop. Icthyos Enterprises 28525 Graham Dr Chesterfield, MI 586-598-0466 Pete and Cathleen Durkins fish house, Cichlids, Cats, Africans, South Americans and more. This has always been a great and requested stop for the Shop Hop attendees. After about an hour at the Durkins we will NOT be going to the Log Cabin restaurant.
In an effort to change things up a bit we will be going to a new BBQ place about 3 miles away in New Baltimore. BAD BRAD'S BBQ 35611 Green Street at 23 Mile Rd New Baltimore MI 48047 586 716-9977 Real firepit BBQ, pulled pork, ribs and full menu. The place smells really good, the food is excellent. Outside deck with fish pond.
